2008 Nor Cal Rule Modifications and Clarifications

The Mercy Rule is 15 runs after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4 innings, or 8 runs after 5 innings.	Nor Cal will have 12 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, or 8 runs after 5 innings.	The Nor Cal rule will be added to the USSSA rule book as of August 1, 2007, however, the USSSA rule will be in force for all 2007 World Series Tournaments.
If using a Designated Hitter and Defensive Player, the DH may play defensive or the DP may play offensive in either case the DH role is terminated for the game.	This is the Nor Cal Rule	This will remain in the USSSA rule book
One designated Hitter may be used	Two Designated Hitters will be allowed for Nor Cal events	This will remain in the USSSA rule book

A team may use 3 defensive conferences per game plus 1 per extra inning; pitcher removed as a pitcher for the game.	This is the Nor Cal Rule	This will remain in the USSSA rule book
Pitching distance 43 feet	Nor Cal will use this rule for all 18U events in 2007.	This distance will be used at the 2007 18A World Series and will be in the rule book for 2008.
The pitcher must start with her Pivot foot on the rubber; her non pivot foot may be in contact or behind.	This is the Nor Cal Rule	This will remain in the USSSA rule book
A team may use a courtesy runner for the pitcher or catcher. It must be a player who has not been in the game (except as a courtesy runner). The player may not be used for both positions in same inning. A courtesy runner may not be used for the DP.	This is the Nor Cal Rule	This will remain in the USSSA rule book
If the courtesy runner is injured, another courtesy runner or the pitcher or catcher may run for her.	This is the Nor Cal Rule	This will remain in the USSSA rule book
